Dramatic, atmospheric and textural, Joshua Hudson’s art is emotional blends of hues and line work. Strong contrasts are skillfully blended with a majestic sense of harmony into a unity of subtle variances. His paintings possess a fascinating, mysterious quality that inhabit a dimension of their own, an indescribable world that by far transcends our rational existence.
Born in the “One and Only”, Paragould, Joshua discovered his love for art and sculpture at an early age. His style of painting, which he refers to as “atmospheric abstractions”, encompasses controlled brush and palette knife work, subtle under-painting and alterations in color.
His paintings are deliberately not specific to any place or time, as Joshua’s intent is for the viewer to develop and build their own personal connections with each piece. Whether his images remind you of somewhere you have seen, or invoke emotion or memory, he aims to balance both a sense of materialism and spiritualism through this abstraction.
